Recipe #1 – Miso Soup
Hi there. My name is Katie and I am an Advertising major and Communication Studies minor at Rowan University. I am 22 years old and I live in Central New Jersey. Many things interest me and cooking just happens to be something I enjoy doing. My favorite food would definitely be Japanese food. Japanese food is delicious and depending on the food, very simple to make. One of my favorite Japanese foods is Miso Soup.
So today, I will share with you a simple recipe for Miso Soup.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups dashi soup stock
- 1 block tofu
- 3-4 tbsps miso paste
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
Preparation:
Put dashi soup stock in a pan and bring to a boil. Cut tofu into small cubes and add them to the soup. Simmer the tofu for a few minutes on low heat. Scoop out some soup stock from the pan and dissolve miso in it. Gradually return the miso mixture in the soup. Stir the soup gently. Stop the heat and add chopped green onion. Remember not to boil the soup after you put miso in.
Not only is it easy to make, but it is also vegetarian. I am a vegetarian and I have been one for almost 10 years.

This is a great site. Miso soup is a simple recipe; at one of the Japanese restaurants I used to frequent, the chef would often add a vegetable medley to the soup to make it more substantial. This isn’t really necessary. Also, some dashi soup stock might contain fish, so if you aren’t comfortable with that, usually any vegetarian soup stock will do.
